Behold our latest art piece for ViYarte - ‘Mutaa’ an original painting on carpet by @mateo.artist !

We are so excited to adorn our space with more incredible artwork by our good friend Mateo. We have two murals (by our pool and in our shala) done by the Montreal artist and have been showcasing some of his prints - but this will be our first original of his signature style: hand painted + spray paint on a Persian rug!   The name of the piece is Mutaa (coming from the Islamic word “mut’ah” for ‘respect’ or ‘union’) and has been one of Mateo’s fixtures during his international showcases and has been displayed in galleries around the world.

ViYarte founder @johntearly was able to visit Mateo at his Montreal studio and he will be bringing this piece back with him to Nica in October. We are SO excited to continue to showcase this masterpiece for all future ViYarte guests and friends for years to come.

Behold our latest art piece for ViYarte - ‘Mutaa’ an original painting on carpet by @mateo.artist !

We are so excited to adorn our space with more incredible artwork by our good friend Mateo. We have two murals (by our pool and in our shala) done by the Montreal artist and have been showcasing some of his prints - but this will be our first original of his signature style: hand painted + spray paint on a Persian rug!   The name of the piece is Mutaa (coming from the Islamic word “mut’ah” for ‘respect’ or ‘union’) and has been one of Mateo’s fixtures during his international showcases and has been displayed in galleries around the world.

ViYarte founder @johntearly was able to visit Mateo at his Montreal studio and he will be bringing this piece back with him to Nica in October. We are SO excited to continue to showcase this masterpiece for all future ViYarte guests and friends for years to come.

We have a new addition to the ViYarte familia! Bienvenidos a Nala! She stole our hearts over the last few months while being tied up at a neighbours casa. With thanks to @saradiblasio we’ve formally adopted her and she no longer will be tied up and alone in the dirt!

Nala: a Swahili word meaning ‘Gift’ or ‘Beloved’ is a great fit for this high energy sweetheart. She already fits in with the other community dogs in the neighborhood and she’s ready to steal your heart too!

It is with some sadness as well as an optimistic heart we share that Lolo has left ViYarte. After dealing with a wing issue we believe she had healed and flew away to her feathered friends. Our little pacific parakeet (called chocoyo in Nicaragua) had been trying to fly away her last few weeks with us and made it to the garage on the last attempt!

It has been wonderful to have her spunky energy and care for her during this time. We are honoured to have had @riverjune painted her onto our hallway murals in memory.

In the name of her funny spirit:

A polygon.

Look what came out last night in our backyard during the full moon: Señorita Pitaya! We LOVE dragonfruit and they are truly amazing flowers that only last for one night! Here are a few more fun pitaya facts:  > a bright white flower forms from a bud on the cactus
> the entire lifespan of the bloom is around 8 hours usually opening around sunset and withering by the morning
> the flower - known as ‘Queen of the Night’ or ‘Moonflower’ blooms during full moon to find pollinators, especially bats!
> once pollinated, the dragonfruit forms at the base of the flower, which fades as the dragonfruit grows
> Dragonfruit takes about 21 days to go from bud to flower and 30 days to go from flower to fruit
> dragonfruit season in Nicaragua is June thru November

Look what came out last night in our backyard during the full moon: Señorita Pitaya! We LOVE dragonfruit and they are truly amazing flowers that only last for one night! Here are a few more fun pitaya facts:  > a bright white flower forms from a bud on the cactus
> the entire lifespan of the bloom is around 8 hours usually opening around sunset and withering by the morning
> the flower - known as ‘Queen of the Night’ or ‘Moonflower’ blooms during full moon to find pollinators, especially bats!
> once pollinated, the dragonfruit forms at the base of the flower, which fades as the dragonfruit grows
> Dragonfruit takes about 21 days to go from bud to flower and 30 days to go from flower to fruit
> dragonfruit season in Nicaragua is June thru November

This is for anyone who would like to journey inward and connect with the energies of Egypt where Therese has been living for the past 3 years, and leading groups through temple initiations as well as regenerating the land and lotus on the Nile.

Blue Lotus is an ancient plant that’s inhabited our Earth for 145 million years. It was revered in Ancient Egypt/Kemetic times and used as a primary offering. Ancient Egyptians used several plants to connect to other dimensions, and they were also masters with sound. Together the Blue Lotus & Sound is a beautiful experience. Very gentle, relaxing, and opening. We were delighted to host the amazing artists and musicians from @sanctuary_music_festival this past week at ViYarte! It was an incredible gathering with music, yoga and community celebration - which continued through to our family meals and beach jams at ViYarte!
